I hope she's innocent.

I'm re-watching Prisoner for the first time since it ended on Central TV in the UK in 1991 and am only 12 episodes away from the Freak's first appearance.

YOU SHOULDN'T BE EATING SAUSAGES!!

Just been found guilty

These never ending string of historical sex abuse cases are completely ricidulous, it's usually 1 person's word against the other without a shred of evidence and the judge doesn't have a clue who's telling the truth. People can't seem to accept the fact that the world is fill of liars. Fair enough if there is hard evidence but if it's just the case that it's 1 word against the other with no hard evidence then it should never go to trial.

I completely agree. The whole thing really reads like a bad storyline from the show. No witnesses. No evidence. And, let's not forget, the supposed victim was a mentally unstable patient at a psychiatric hospital, who just happened to be obsessed with the show and Maggie. How the hell was this not laughed out of court?

Agreed, I personally know a family who made up child abuse claims and tried to blackmail a man for money over it but he called their bluff. The same family have been caught thieving from their place of employment and have sued people over silly things several times. Let's not forget how some of the fantasists who accused actor William Roache of sex abuse were torn apart in court as their stories fell apart, 1 'victim' claimed in the end she couldn't recall if she had even met him... Let's not forget that one of the main accusers in the Michael Jackson had made several lawsuits against other people before the case.

Furthermore as somebody who has worked across schools for some years I have seen dozens of completely false allegations made by kids and their parents against staff members including myself solely because we got on the wrong side of the child or parent over something trivial. I even had other adult witnesses in the class to verify my innocence but the accusers would not admit they were lying.

It is this class of people who are the 1s that cry rape/sexual assault for a bit of attention/money or whatever/whoever they are after. I had 1 student telling her parents I was leaving cuts on her body by hitting her and weeks after the accusations it was discovered the student was self harming. I had another student say I stabbed her with a pen solely because I moved her away from her friends, her and her family had alot of issues... as I said it is these same people who I will likely see in the paper in 30 years times accusing someone of an alleged offense from today which just happens to have 0 witnesses or proof of happening.

It is shameful when people are falsely accused of something heinous and diabolical. One of my cousins was accused of molesting a foster child. Fortunately he was cleared. The girl had a habit of accusing people of molesting her.

Anyone remember the McMartin Preschool case in California in the mid 80s in which a family owned business was destroyed because of false allegations and police malipulation of the so-called victims. This was one of the cases that aided in not allowing police to question children within their parents present and to not allow them to lead a child into saying what they, the police, want to hear.

I heard of a couple who had been falsely accused and convicted of molesting their children. This was around the same time of the McMartin case.

Another false accusation case was made into a documentary called Capturing the Friedmans in which a father and son were accused of molesting children. The father admitted to have molested children but there was absolutely no evidence against the son. The son plead guilty anyway. Had he had gone to trial, he probably would have been aquitted.

If you label somebody as being guilty, you should also follow the evidence, because on appeal, she was found not guilty, and walked free.

Your stand alone sentence "Just been found guilty" is inflammatory to people who didn't follow the case to its end.

Please note: Not Guilty, and the judge added that the witness wasn't reliable and that the case should never have made it to court.

I think it's time this post was removed now, Maggie Kirkpatrick has been cleared of all allegations, charges and criminal convictions on the 7th December 2015. She had her conviction of alleged 'crimes' quashed and been found completely innocent. I'm glad she was fully exonerated of any crime, especially as the evidence against her, were based on such unsubstantiated and spurious accusations.
