Who was the pianist 'Rubenstein' shown in episode 4 supposed to be?

This is a great series in every respect, and I have been totally enjoying it.

I have a question concerning episode 4.

In this episode, a pianist referred to as "Rubenstein" is seen performing at a party. Who is this supposed to be?

Naturally, the great pianist Arthur Rubenstein comes to mind. But Arhur Rubenstein was born in 1887, so I would think he would be too young to be part of this story.

Does anyone know who this pianist was supposed to be?

I saw this on PBS back in the late 1970's so I'm a bit sketchy on the details but I believe it was probably Anton Rubinstein - a famous Russian composer and pianist. I think he was a teacher of Rachmaninoff among others.
