Harvest of Kairos - Biggest missed opportunity of the show?

They really messed up by killing off Jarvik in "Harvest of Kairos". Not only was he actually clever in a way that Travis never really quite ever seen but was somewhat of a sympathetic villain figure working his way up from common laborer to commanding officer in only one episode. He also was one of the few villains to react well to Servalan and be able to put her in her place AND arouse her merely by displaying a fearless "Based-Alpha" kind of attitude. He would have made an excellent foil for her and also made for a significant threat to the protagonists. Oddly enough this episode seemed to make Tarrant out to be the leader of the Seven instead of Avon who clearly was by this point, as though the writer didn't get the memo. It represents an interesting one-off episode which doesn't affect the overall continuity of the show but it would have made for a much better show if it would have.
