Well, in the early 90s I watched the 1st two episodes on VHS (when I was very young). It always stuck with me but I got bored and quit when they had the third episode on the barren planet.

Anyway, this year I watched through to the end of series 3, it was pretty good despite well-known problems and flaws like the cheap effects. I couldn't take much of series 4, it was awful. Series 1 was very solid but then the problems started showing up.

Some of my favourites were "Breakdown", "Voice from the Past" and "Killer". I liked most of the characters but Servalan was pretty sickening after a while. Didn't think much of Tarrant as a replacement for Blake.

You did better than me, I watched some of the early episodes on YouTube a couple of years ago, and I enjoyed them especially the first two, but I soon got bored with the terrible special effects really hampering this show. Star Trek is a good ten years older and looked so much better! Even Forbidden Planet does!

I didn’t get as far as Servalan’s introduction, so I may return to it one day.
