other pre-1990 films with lots of high shutter speed?
WHITE BUFFALO always baffled me in its use of High Shutter. It doesn't use it in any of the Buffalo scenes, but most of Wild Bill's scenes have it. It's especially noticeable during the shootout with Kyleen, when he meets with Novack, and when he's riding in the train.
The only other movie I can think of to have lots of seemingly unmotivated high shutter speed is ZULU DAWN. Though I am sure there are many others to come before SAVING PRIVATE RYAN made it commonplace. Any thoughts on why it was used in this film and if there are others which utilize it to this extent.
