Kids Voices Dubbed in by Adults??

Did anyone else notice that in the second story, the kids voices were very apparently overdubbed in by adults?? It was annoying, you could see the children voicing their lines, so why did they feel the need to make adults do the voices???

I noticed that as well, VERY annoying.

the director's commentary said that it was dubbed because of the thick Canadian accents.
