£1000 a night hooker in 1977?

I am a big fan of THE SWEENEY tv series and of IAN KENNEDY MARTIN the writer of this but I laugh when DIANE KEEN says she is a £1000 a night hooker in 1977.

I mean really,you could probably multiply that by 10 to get current values.

This whole film is deeply flawed,the controversial energy secretary is in a film made when Britain had a controversial energy secretary TONY BENN,the film is all US style conspiracy theory stuff,not really the SWEENEY's cup of tea.

But it is fun,do you think REGAN wanted what happened at the end to happen?

I'm a big fan of The Sweeney series also (and Minder and The Professionals) and I love both Sweeney movies despite their flaws. I don't find it too hard to believe that Bianca was a 1000 a night hooker, even in the 70s. Okay, in real life I think she'd have to be a much, much hotter woman for sure, but considering her clientele - all extremely wealthy, extremely high powered men, I can easily see how they'd pay a grand a night for some nookie with a lookie. We're not talking your average johns on the street here who might expect to get a poke for a tenner. These guys are oil barons and government officials - they expect a high price so that they can tell themselves they're getting something not everyone else can have. If you put a high value on something, and everyone believes (for whatever reasons) that it really is that valuable, then it really becomes that valuable.
