What Was Obi-Wan (/ Old Ben) Kenobi's Original Plan?

If R2 hadn't showed up with the plans and kick started the whole shenanigans, what was his original plan? What was he going to do?

Was he waiting until Luke turned 30 before commencing his training? Or was he just going to stay there, watching Luke from distance, until he eventually headed off and joined the Imperial Academy?

Probably just protecting Luke from any Sith or imperial attacks until the threat no longer exists

the kenobi show made it seem they were waiting for when the time is right. if i recall correctly. could have been a line from rots?

i think he might’ve done something when luke went to the academy.
