I know I liked it as a kid, but some parts felt slow and it dragged here and there. I watched it after the trilogy was already world famous, but long before the pre/sequels, so I appreciated how this started it all when SW was big but not overexploited.
I wonder if newer first time viewers, maybe watching it after the prequels and sequels and tv shows etc, find this first one disappointing in any way.
I grew up with these movies and always enjoyed them, but I’ll admit when I was 4/5/6 years old I rarely watched them in one sitting. I especially found everything from the original movie after they escape the Death Star to be rather boring. In fact, I still feel like that part of the original to drag a bit. The assault on the Death Star really only heats up when it’s down to Luke and Wedge.
