I am shocked!

might I say that I never saw this movie, but that I realize that, after reading some of the reviews about it, how disgusting the movie industry really is! I mean, the whole concept sounds like really really sick! to use children in a movie! disgusting! this movie belongs in the row of banned crazy films with Pasolini's Salo. bleh! that movies like this were ever even considered making, let alone being a 'success', shows how dangerous movies really can be, in having effects on people, yes, even stimulating corespondent unmature behavior!

free speech!!!

Talks about banning movies - has a "free speech" signature.

Having grown up in the late sixties and early seventies, I remember when the pornography laws in the USA were deemed unconstitutional and child porn was readily available through ads placed in the back of men's magazines so there were much worse movies made back then. I am not excusing the creators and makers of the film, but just giving you the facts about how things were done and perceived back then. I don't remember any outrage (as there should have been).

The only disgusting thing in the movie is the bird torture.

Im shocked that you can have an opinion about a film you've NEVER seen.
Why not try watching the film first then maybe your opinion will be somewhat credible.

Use children in a movie? Children are used in movies all the time. What the hell are you talking about??

How the hell can you have the words FREE SPEECH!!! in your signature and then talk about how films shouldnt be made? Isn't Maladolescenza just artistic expression and free speech? You can't have it both ways. Hypocrite!

Actually this film is widely banned throughout the world. But you really should see any film before judging it; this one isn't nearly as offensive as it sounds. Pasolini's "Salo" is SO much worse, because it depicts horrifying, violent and unnatural acts between people, all of which are forced upon them. "Maladolescenza" is pretty, and poetic, and very artistic. In no way is it pornography. I know that underage nudity in film makes a lot of people uncomfortable, but there is really nothing horrifying or brutal at all about this film. There are no adults in the film at all, it's just a cast of 3, and any sex is clearly faked. Also the parents of both young actresses were present throughout filming. see it before you judge..you might be surprised.

And, most people don't realize this, but the filmmaker had a very political and metaphorical intent in mind when he made the film, so it is not intended merely as eroticism or a "coming-of-age" tale.

After researching Pier Giuseppe Murgia at length, which was no easy task, I wrote a lengthy post on this in another thread.
