I think you may have misread my comment. I didn't say anything about it being "ok" or not--I wrote that it wasn't particular funny, and it certainly wasn't funny the fifth or sixth time we heard it. So yes, it would be equally tired and unfunny if the tables were turned and we were subjected to the same "joke" over and over again.
