I just want to say this is what a horror movie should be like. I saw shock waves when I was like 10 yrs old and it scared the crap out of me! It was so errie and crepy, the music and the way it was filmed. I think one of the scareist parts was when they were hiding in the basement and the zombies were trashing the hotel trying to find them. Why can't horror movies today follow shock waves type of style instead of producung the formula generic routines they have been doing for yrs! A killer comes back for revenge yrs later and terorizes teenagers! Use some imagination people! I put shock waves up with rosmarys baby, the exorcist, original halloween and jaws. Oops almost forgot classic dawn of the dead

Hey real quick does anyone know what made the german zombies wake up after all those years sleeping? I thought it was when the tourists little boat crashed into their ship. Also why didn't the zombies kill Brooke Adams when she was lying in the boaty after her boyfriend got killed. That was strange. Oh well if anyone wants to reply please do. I'll answer back in a jiffy

This is a really old post but I so agree. Shock Waves is a classic and so much better than most horror films today.

Maybe why they did not kill Brooke Adams is by the time the guy got killed she was too far out...And for the sake of the story it was much more chilling to see that she had went insane,

i think the zombies just lived on and around the island. since they could breath underwater thats where they spent most of their time. I dont think they were asleep or dormant. but were roused when the group were marooned.
