I'm not a big fan of all the remakes being made today, though maybe one in three turns out pretty good. So I wonder how this flick would be remade in this day and age. Could we still have Nazi zombie/supersoldiers? Of course the film would have to have teenagers in it, and probably a rapper, as well as unnecessary, badly-done CG special effects, but I'd surely go and see it.
Was "Shock Waves" successful? Was there never any talk of a sequel?
the remake will propbably replace nazis with "would be suicide bombers" arabs who rise from guantanamo bay and get back at the american soldiers who abused them, rapper Nelly will be there as well as Jessica Alba.
FU&CK REMAKES, cant they leave anything allone. This movie is brilliant. And nobody can make stuff like this anymore. The seventies are long gone what a shame actually.
this movie should not be remade because I know what it will probably be turned into...the computer effects will try to make it 'scarier', faster paced, and more 'sensational' to attract an audience and hence...$$$$
the movie was made perfectly and should not be altered because of the concept. the assailants and the victims have no weapons, and have a difficult environment to navigate through, which makes for a slow, cat-and-mouse concept. it's supposed to slow paced movie because that's the way it would have been in that situation. If nazi zombie experiments really came out of the ocean after many years and had to swim and walk through the water and a thick jungle-like environment to kill the victims it would take a long time and the 'action' would really be few and far between.
A remake might spark some interest seeing the original but most people who actually watch remakes will probably not invest much time in finding a way to see the original...kind of obscure i think. just leave it alone.
"You people don't have the slightest idead how to Boil water, let alone sail in it!"
Yeah, I say no remake for this one. Part of the nostlagia and atmosphere in the film comes from it's low-budget charm. A slick Hollywood remake would exist only as a vehicle built to make money.
"I've seen things in this city that make Dante's Inferno read like Winnie The Pooh."
It is a freaky movie, but not what I would call terrifying. I saw it as a kid and remembered it for its atmosphere and for its somewhat freaky moments. As for a remake...
I tend to hate rekaes too. In this case I think it's work better as a prequel set during WW2 when the zombies are first developed and sent out into combat for the first time, or make a sequel set during the vietnam war (as Adirondack said), in which case the film can end with everybody (zombies and non-zombies) getting napalmed
