Spoilers Ahead

When Brooke Adams and the man get in the row boat a zombie jumps out of the water and grabs him and then she looks through the glass bottom to see that he has been killed. Just wanting to know as she was all alone and helpless why didn't the zombie go after her?

They were far enough away that the water got deep again. The zombie also didn't kill him, I think we're supposed to gather she accidentally strangled him with the rope tying it to the oar.
