How f*ckin' gay was Disco

Shit 'fashions' and cheesy, frothy, hilarious muzak.

I was in my twenties during the '70s. Disco was horrid. There was a widespread expression back then: "Disco Sucks!" Nevertheless, it caught on with the musically stunted masses and was a long-term fad.

I remember back in the heyday, my buddies and I were bowling, and this gaggle of disco queens kept playing "Freak Out" on the jukebox.

I went up to the counter and got $10 worth of quarters and loaded it with as much Motown as I could find and what I couldn't find I put in rock music. I hated all disco with a passion.

Best $10 I ever spent.

Now, almost 50 years later I actually find that there are actually *some* disco tracks that I actually don't mind (not a lot mind you). Sometimes our opinion changes with time. Some of those songs remind me of when I was coming of age.

I'm one of those admittedly rare folks who find Diana Ross' voice grating and whining, like Connie Francis only worse. I just can't listen to her at all. IMO she was the least talented of the Supremes. That track isn't bad but there are some that irritate the crap out of me.

Were there any people that openly liked both Rock and Disco?

Tony Manero was blasting chicks left right and centre. How can it be gay?

You do what you gotta do, and Tony got it done.

Was abba disco ?love me some abba.

ABBA is not really a disco group although some songs could be considered disco. Most say they are not easy to dance to in the same way that Disco specific songs were.
