Linda Haynes was excellant in Rolling Thunder! I wonder why she did'nt appear in more films. She reminds me of a couple of other sexy, blonde actresses (Eric Hagen, Candice Rialson)from the 70's whose careers ended at the end of that era.
I agree. Linda Haynes gave a marvelously gritty performance as tough and world-weary barmaid/war groupie Linda Forchet. She now works as a legal secretary in Florida.
Linda was just one of 150,000 actresses bouncing around Hollywood in the 70's. Frankly she was cute, but never more than a 6 on her best day in life. The chubby cheeks and weird nose kept her in the periphery. She lived in the Valley and worked as a waitress while trying to hustle work. Rolling Thunder was her biggest payday where she made $2,500, she got 2 days work in Brubaker. She was 30 here and those ....uh, attributes... were heading south like ducks in winter. Linda did ludes, coke, hung at the Troub for a while, slept around trying to get parts, got a few but was never memorable. The Tuesday Weld comparison is not even close. After getting tired of being broke and sleeping on couches, Linda did what 99 percent of Hollywood wannabes do - went home, saw her doctor and got shots.

Linda Haynes was also an excellent advertisement for the braless look. That's one of the things I miss about the 1970s. There were nipples all over the place, even on tv.
Yes, the braless look was big in the '70s, as were many of the breasts (though not as monstrous as today's silicon phonies). Remember when bra-burning was an act of feminism? Kind of ironic, because it also created a lot of stares for reasons not originally intended.
Well, she was alright so far as her acting went. But her major appeal is that she was f'in hot, in a very easygoing earthy sort of way, 70's style. Just goes to show that Major Rane's problems were incurably bad to have alienated a beauty like Linda.

Thanks for the tip. Definitely the best one I received in 2010. Too for me I didn't get around to seeing it until 2011! Love that natural look of Linda Haynes, yes sir. 70s babes.
I'm friends with Linda Haynes on Facebook. She's a super nice lady. Moreover, Linda has since retired from working as a legal secretary and lives in Bonita Springs, Florida.
