This Movie was Made at the Wrong Time!

What a fantastic plot and solid acting! The only thing this movie needs is updated. We need to feel the power of these crashes and a little more from the antagonist. I thought this was a suspenseful classic, but an update would make this a near-classic. And NO, it wouldn't be ANYTHING close to Final Destination 3. That movie is absolute garbage and they should have stopped at the original-- the only good one of the trilogy.

Rollercoaster is a movie in itself, and I would love to see a re-make.

Despite it's only flaw coming from this being made too early, this film should be well above it's lousy rating on IMDB. Just another movie put down by "movie critics" that think they know what a good movie really is.

Brings me to a question: Who would you like to see playing Segal's and Bottom's role in a re-make of this movie?

reply

One reason that Rollercoaster is still such a solid movie is that itself is a remake and NOT a true disaster movie cookie cutter. It is a remake of an Alfred Hitchcock suspense movie called Strangers On A Train. Certain basics and yet it still stands as an excellent piece of movie.

A remake won't do it justice since remakes tend to lose what made the first movie so special in the first place.

It's a longshot, but if they ever went for a remake, I'd go for Tom Hanks in Segal's part, and Crispin Glover as the bomber.

This movie is ripe for a re-make and/or re-boot.
