I have loved this movie for over 30 years it is time for a Blu-Ray with tons of features.

I've Loved this movie for years also, a Blu-Ray with tons of features would be most welcome they could hopefully include the deleted scenes, and an uncut ending of 'young man's death.

shareIf you have a 5.1 system or above, Universal has included the SenSurround effects track in the soundtrack. That's why the soundtrack is labeled as 1.1 in the tech specs.
The SenSurround effects are also included in MIDWAY and Battlestar: Galactica (Theatrical Version) as a 1.1 soundtrack and Earthquake as a "3.1 English SenSurround" soundtrack.
By the way, there is a featurette on the MIDWAY DVD about the SenSurround process.

It's not really a true Sensurround track, as it's far too low in level.
The sub tracks here and on the Earthquake DVD may be the closest home video owners ever get, especially as Universal seems in no hurry to release either on Blu-ray, despite having some nice HD transfers they've provided to pay cable and that ran on their on Universal HD channel back when Universal cared about the channel.
I think the regular DVD is out of print.

The DVD is out of print Ahab, and I have been hanging onto it for years, but the 4:3 2.35:1 print is annoying considering I have not one but 3 WS TV's in my house and I like to watch this at least once a year during the summer season.

It's coming out on Blu Ray in Italy. released by Pulp Video.They have region locked a few releases and left some region free.
