Hi all! Here's the possible blu ray cover art. The release date is TBA later, but of course, it will be sometime this summer. Enjoy! Let's hope the quality will be better than that of the 2003 DVD version, which I currently own! Keep your fingers crossed!
Yeah, the cover art has been roaming the web for a few months now. It's nice and fresh, though I must say that what I had envisioned for a 'Diamond Edition' was much more lush (I wish I could recreate it from my imagination to digital so I could show you), but at least we know that they've made an effort to create a brand new cover, unlike the 2003 DVD release in which it was recycled.
As for the release date, Disney seems to have pushed it back to fall of this year instead of the summer.
Though I wish I could purchase the original movie separately, I'm still pretty excited and eager for this release.
So...Fall, eh? HOPEFULLY THIS YEAR and not say...NEXT YEAR OR ANYTIME AFTER THAT!!! Anyways, if it really IS this year, I'd expect to at LEAST see a new trailer for this release sometime soon... And better yet have the actual release be here before any of us know it!!!
P.S. I heard a rumor that Disney animator John Musker was going to have an introduction to the lost Louis Prima song "Peoplitis" on the Blu-Ray/DVD... That sounds PROMISING!!! :)
There's a trailer on the new DVD/Blu-ray for the new Studio Ghibli releases. I saw it on my new copy of "The Secret World of Arrietty." The print used for the clips on the trailer is the same as the home video/DVD print, and I seriously hope it does not represent the choice print for the actual release. The clips looked pretty blurry and over-saturated, as in low-quality source forced into HD.
