Compared to all other films, ever, I give it a 5/10. However, on the cheese-scale for B-movies, it's definitely 9/10. The only complaint I have is that it was never really explained what the hell was going on between her motorcycle injury and how she ended up with a blood-sucking mini-vagina in her armpit, complete with retractable thorn-tipped penis.

I can't understand your crazy moon language.
Wasn't that the whole point? Not to tell, I mean. At least to mean that's often the beauty in Cronenberg's work.
shareA solid 7/10 - flawed but fascinating, kind of a slow burner but the ending is worth it.

He left a note. He left a simple little note that said "I've gone out the window."
Basically a rehash of Shivers, but it´s got arguably more emotional weight as it focuses more on the two central characters - particularly Chambers - and allows the viewer to empathize with them to an extent while the earlier work kept all of its folk at arms length. It won´t win any originality points, the acting´s generally amateurish and it´s somewhat less outrageous than Shivers, but it´s occasionally quite hilarious all the same. And the cold, bleak wintry light that I always like about Cronenberg pictures makes it aesthetically rather pleasing. Nothing extraordinary, especially when compared to Cronenberg´s later more complex and challenging works, but a nice little number nevertheless. 7/10.
