Long, long time since I've seen movie, but I remember Henry getting a new car.
Memory says it was a Datsun 260Z. Has my memory failed me again?

What kind of car is the Red car in the beginning? (I've only seen the beginning of the movie). That car is sweet!! I'd love to own one of those!

Yeah, it was definitely a Datsun Z car. I can't really say whether it was the 240Z, 260Z, or 280Z.

I thought it was a 260Z, but if they bought him a new car, and it's 1976-1977, then it was probably the 280Z.

I remember reading way back when in one of those teen magazines, that Robby owned a Triumph. Maybe that was really his car in the movie?

I don't think so. It's a Datsun Z car.

most likely a 240 or 260Z

The 280Z came out in '75 and since they bought it new for him in the story and the movie came out in '77, it was a 280Z. Plus, the wheels on the car were used starting on the '77s, I believe. I agree though, sweet ride!

Just watched it today. It is the Datsun 280z.
