Drew Barrymore in opening scene?

In the opening scene of this movie, Jerry Landers catches a little girl sitting in a shopping cart who has somehow hoarded a bunch of snack cookies, much to her mom's dismay.

This little girl looks very much like Drew Barrymore. Barrymore was born in early 1975 and this movie was released in 1977, so she could have been 2 or more when the movie was made, which looked like the approximate age of the girl.

The movie doesn't give her credit for this. I submitted somthing to the IMDB guys but they claim the cast is "complete."

I wonder if there is any way to investigate this?

This film is not listed on Drew's credits on her IMDB site. According to her site, her film debut came a year after this film was released.

I checked out the scene. It's close, but her hair is too dark. The smile is mischievous like Drew's though. So close, but no cigar.

Drew was born in 1975 which means she would be about two years old in the movie. The girl in the cart is too old to be her.

someone brought this up back in 1992 when Drew was on Mark & Brian's radio show. she said it was not her.
