Missing scene in Oh God! ?

I just watched "Oh God!" for the first time in about 20 years and it's every bit as good as I remember. This is a great flick, and Burns and Denver are absolutely perfect.

I have a question though, maybe someone can help me out. I think I remember a scene I didn't see, but it could be just my imagination. I took out "Oh God!" from my local library, it's the 1990 VHS Warner Brothers Time Warner release. Now I used to see the film on cable many moons ago. Now of course, after God is done answering the questions in the hotel room, God tells Denver to bring his answers straight to Paul Savino, the greedy preacher.

Now after watching this video, I thought I remembered a scene that takes place after Denver delivers the questions to the preacher (and the ruckus breaks out), where the "panel" of religious experts take the questions that God answered for John Denver, and comment on the answers, and even saying something along the lines of "this is incredible" or something to that effect.

This wasn't in the VHS I just watched. Doed this scene actually exist, or is it my imagination? I haven't bought the DVD yet (I want to, to see the film in widescreen), I'm wondering if it is in there?

Thanks for any help! Great flick!!

I have watched my original 35mm print of "Oh God" and there was no such scene.
I have read my original shooting script of "Oh God" and there is no such scene.

You have experienced what many refer to as, "Fictitious Movie Scene Syndrome". Please don't feel ashamed. It happens to all of us. I swore for years that there was a scene in Star Wars with Chewie reading a newspaper on a futuristic space toilet.

I believe you must have seen that scene in the movie Ice Pirates...

There is a scene where they bust into a ship and there is an alien creature reading a newspaper while sitting on a toilet.

Actually I think you're right. I'm old enough to have actually seen it in the theatres back in 1977, and there was a short scene of the panel looking at the answers and acting shocked, but it didn't have any dialogue. It looks like they shortened the movie a tad by overlaying the dialogue from one scene to the shocked panel scene, and blending it together.

Of course, I was only 12 at the time, my mind isn't what it used to be.

It's on the DVD.

I remember such a scene too. I am watching it right now and the "ruckus" just occurred and then the film suddenly went to the courtroom scene. It's obvious scenes were edited out of this version, else what even would they have bothered with the questions scenes and then no reaction scenes to the results?
