Coming in 2007: 30TH Anniversary DVD With Extras from Media Blasters!

A friend of mine at Media Blasters have told me that they have purchased the rights to "Kingdom Of The Spiders" and plan to load it up with Extras. It will be a two disc set with the movie in Anamorphic Widescreen, Audio Commentaries, Deleted Scenes, Trailers, TV Spots, Blooper Reel, A Two Hour Documentary on the making of "Kingdom Of The Spiders as well as a Poster/Still Gallery. A must for all fans of "Kingdom Of The Spiders". I will keep everyone posted!

That is awesome!!! I never thought I'd see the day when Kingdom Of The Spiders would get the royal treatment on a special edition. Those extras sound amazing! I hold Media Blasters in high regard. They did a fantastic job on their release of Devil Dog: Hound of Hell, so I know they just can't go wrong with this one.

That's terrific news. The Goodtimes DVD of this film is truly crummy; it's some paltry fullscreen presentation with zero extras. I'm sure Shriekshow will do a great job with their DVD of this film. I love their DVDs of "Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell," "Grizzly," and "Day of the Animals."

I wouldn't expect much since they put a crummy print of One Dark Night out on DVD with the 2 Disc Set that was supposed to be something special for that. And I waited for a long time for that & it finally came out & I get junk. Not all the extras promised & not a good print like promised. On Disc 2 the rough director's cut is *beep* the only good things about that 2 Disc Set is The Audio Commentary on Disc 1 with Writter/Director Tom McLoughlin & Co-Writter & Director Consultant Michael Hawes. also The R.I.P. Behind The Scenes Featurette on Disc 2. I am sure Kingdom will have a worn scratchy print also. The only thing I would look forward to is the extras. Shriek Show & Media Blasters are together & put out crummy prints on their DVD's I read & own One Dark Night so. I have the Region 2 Green Cow DVD of Kingdom Of The Spiders in 1.85:1 Anaphormic Widescreen Restored with a nice crisp bright print. Also includes the trailer as well. MGM is who has the rights to this print. It runs 91 mins. It is PG I assume this is the original theatrically released version. I also have the Goodtimes DVD of this Print isn't bad not as good as Green Cow one but the movie on Goodtimes DVD runs 95 mins. I am assuming that is a Director's Cut. Also it is in Pan & Scan Fullscreen 1.33:1 It would be nice to see the 95 min. Director's Cut Version in 1.85:1 Anaphormic Widescreen on the new Media Blasters 2 Disc Set release. I doubt the print on this upcoming Media Blasters Release will look as nice as the print on the Region 2 Green Cow 2005 DVD Release.

Is there any ACTUAL news of this release or is it just a rumour, someone should follow it up ???

reply

It seems to be just a rumor that guy is full of *beep* I looked on Media Blasters & Shriek Shows's Website no Kindgom Of The Spiders in their Future Releases. Shriek Show doesn't take long with movies when it comes to getting them out on DVD. They don't get restored prints & take time for good results. So it should be on future releases on their site & it isn't. Would be nice to see 95 min. Director's Cut in Anaphormic Widescreen 1.85:1 on Disc 2. Disc 1 should have The 91 min. Theatrical Release in 1.85:1 Anaphormic Widescreen. Also with some nice Special Features. I aint big on Shriek Shows DVD's but if they put it out I will buy it. Cause no one else etempted to release One Dark Night (1983) same with Day Of The Animals (1977), Grizzly (1976) & Devil Dog: Hound Of Hell (1978) (M>TV) Shriek did those seperatley & their all in a DVD Box Set on eBay I am getting of those never seen them they are supposed to be good. I doubt the movies will be of good quality I read reviews on all movie guide about those DVD's they are good but the movies aren't restored properly like One Dark Night (1983) wasn't & was supposed to be, oh well nothing we can do at least they are putting out these films out no one else seems to want to. Alpha Video I would have to say is the worst or one of the worst DVD Companies out there. Media Blasters & Shriek Show at least have nice Special Features on their DVD's I give them credit there I don't hate them. I hate Alpha Video though. I just think Media Blasters & Shriek Shows should do better jobs on their movies they put out how good the quality of the film is on the DVD. I have a Region 2 DVD Green Cow of Kingdom. All I can do is watch it on my computer which sucks I like to watch movies in my room. I need crack codes for my Toshiba & Oritron DVD Players. Maybe u can help me with that so I can play any region code DVD. If u know of any crack codes for DVD Players let me know.

I felt lucky to have found the VHS years ago..I have loved this movie since I was a kid and they never show it on TV,then a couple of years ago,I found it in the Walmart bargain bin with Night of the Living Dead, both for $5.50! I felt lucky as hell that they released this at all on DVD.A special edition would be cool, but I aint counting on it.
