Amazon women on the moon is supposedly a sequal to kfm but i dont see how other than being directed by john landis. Awotm doesnt even have zucker abrams or zucker? someone please explain this to me.
Mostly wishful thinking. We had John Landis doing another humor skit anthology flick akin to KFM but without any otf the writers (or, as it turned out, the talent). Are the studios the same? Anyway, desperate to at least appeal to KFM fans, the producers spread the word it was a sequel.
I actually think that parts of Amazon Women on the Moon are funnier than anything in Kentucky Fried Movie.
Specifically, the intro with Arsenio Hall (who I usually don't like); the "Son of the Invisible Man"; and - my favourite - the "Was Jack the Ripper also the Loch Ness Monster?" segment (Bulls**t Or Not?).
The main problem was the Amazon Women on the Moon segment itself, which was actually less funny than Cat Women of the Moon (the movie it's parodying).
I think the main factor in that AWOTM is considered a sequel is that the producer of both "A Fistsul of Yen" and "Amazon Women on the Moon" is none other than Samuel L. Bronkowitz. This simple reference to my favorite phony name of all time is what helps the "sequel" theory.
