Good looking for a low budget film

I can't believe this actually cost LESS to make than Wes Craven's Last House On The Left. It looks damn good for such a low budget ($65,000) film. I know some of the sets are threadbare, but so what? It keeps your mind on the jokes and the dialogue and the funny stuff, rather than distracting you into looking at the sets, props and so on. In a strange way KFM reminds me of the British Carry On films, which had similarly tiny budgets but occasionally looked great all the same.

I thought the movie cost $500,000 to make (still not a lot of money, even by 1970's standards). Either way, they did do a great job keeping the film on the jokes, and not on the set.
