According to the comments on the DVD, Shadoe Stevens was the announcer for the mock trailer of "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble," and one other. Yet both that and the one "That's Armageddon!" sound much older and deeper. Does anyone have any idea who it was?
P.S.; I just corrected the announcer for the Argon commerical.
It's RON GANZ... he is named in the HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD (1976) dvd commentary as the narrator of the New World trailers on that disc and in the movie and his only credit at IMDB is "Kentucky Fried Movie." Though the commentary says he was in movies and TV- none could be found. I'm sure he's done dozens of trailers. (Could he have had another name?) Those in question here are trailers for Roger Corman/New World movies like WOMEN IN CAGES, THE BIG DOLL HOUSE, THE BIG BIRD CAGE and CAGED HEAT. I thought for years that Catholic High School Girls was just a -generic-, -action- parody. But I saw these trailers on the HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD DVD and just about fell out of my chair. I knew the moment I heard the narrator on the first trailer it was one and the same.
It might have been a fake name. It's really common for union voiceover actors to use pseudonyms so they could take non-union jobs without getting kicked out of the union.
It does sound older and deeper than Shadoe, but he could conceivably have been putting on the voice.
