Miss McGuirk

There is something that has mystified me ever since I was child watching this movie over and over again that I'm hoping any of you can shed some light on. Miss McGuirk is Annabel and Virginia's English teacher who is referenced several times in the film (she might have had Annabel's other friends in her class too). I don't recall seeing her at any point in the movie but I noticed she was listed in the opening credits as being played by Ceil Cabot (Disney movies in early decades credited all cast and crew only at the beginning and with the exception of Alice in Wonderland didn't include ending credits) and as you'll notice the same credit is given on this page's cast list. Did anyone notice anything that I didn't? There also could have been one or more deleted scenes showing the girls in English class but does anyone know the real story?

Long live the 80's!

She's the teacher who reveals to Barbara Harris that Annabelle has extraordinary verbal abilities that are higher than a college freshman. Sorrell Booke is also in that scene. Rewatching the film recently, I got a nice chuckle when she begins sobbing that it breaks her heart Annabelle is squandering her God-given talents and wonders if a more capable teacher might be able to reach her. It's a nicely done comic performance from Ceil Cabot.
