Wouldn't the mother's body be going through nicotine withdrawal?

They made a point of showing us that Ellen, the mother, smokes. But when she switches bodies with her daughter, Annabel, the mother's body should still have some kind of craving for nicotine. Even if the new "ellen", as annabel, doesn't smoke, at least she'd have a weird feeling throughout the day realizing her mother smokes cigarettes, and that her body needs it.

I found this strange. I just saw this version for the first time tonight, but it was something I picked up on right away.

I never thought of that.

Well after she swapped with annabell she started chewing gum all day, maybe that shut out the nicotine cravings, plus it's only her body that she took not the mind, it's annabells mind that was controlling her body, it would make more sense if ellen in annabelles body was craving a cigarette, but i guess they didnt want to show a 13 year old smoking.

Addictions are a combination of mind and body.

OH OH OH AND!!!! Ellen smoked menthol ciggarettes, see the scene in the cafe when she first swaps with annabelle, she aks the guy at the counter for a pack of menthols, so she wouldnt have niccotine cravings from menthol ciggarettes.

reply

really? menthol cigarettes aren't addicting or have nicotine?

The world's a hell, what does it matter what happens in it?

It's a Disney movie.

menthol cigarettes are safer compared to regulars (from what i heard) thats why i switched to menthol. actually i think there are a lot of teens who smoke just as much today and they did back then, out of all my friends only 2 don't smoke. but anyway i only saw this movie when i was about 10 and i could've sworn there was a scene where it was after school and the daughter lit up a cigarette in front of her friends and they all were shocked or something like that.

It generally takes 24-48 hours after stopping tobacco for the nicotine to leave the body, so she was probably okay during the time period shown for the movie. A few more days, though, and she's probably be going crazy! ;-)

It's just not something that would have crossed (a normal person's) mind. Lol!

Some people just pay too much attention!

Or may'be the writer of this movie.
