Why isn't this shown any more? Because of legal reasons?

Anyone know why this perfect Christmas show just disappeared off the airwaves? Is there a legal reason or are there just too many newer things?
'I wish I could see it again. I saw this long ago during happier Christmases.

I wish they would air it again along with A Muppet Family Christmas. I just saw The Christmas Toy on discovery kids HuB and I know that hasn't aired in years so it gave me a little hope

It was a staple on HBO for a few years, that's when I caught it...around 1982 or so. It's been on home video for a long time already.

A Muppet Family Christmas is on YouTube but it’ll never be anywhere else due to rights issues.

Is it not shown? I saw it just this year around Christmas but honestly can't remember if it was on TV or maybe my friend just had a DVD of it.

It is airing on ABC Family right now!

I was so happy to see that it was finally airing again! But I noticed that one of the songs, "Ain't No Hole in the Washtub", was missing. That was one of my favorites and I was looking forward to hearing it again but I guess the 742 Star Wars sponsor tie-in commercials were more important.

On Blu Ray now.
