What happened to the screenwriter ?

Hard to believe that Gerald Vaughan-Hughes, the man who wrote Ridley Scott's feature debut, actually worked so little. Only a handful of screenplays, and nothing since 1977 !

Does anyone have news about him ?

Joseph Conrad travelled to the future in a vessel powered by the heart-of-darkness inhumanity drive, and took the name of Gerald V-H (an anagram of his own). After penning a few middling screen plays to break into Hollywood and avoid suspicion about his true identity, he adapted his own story and then returned back to his native time.
