How does this compare to Scott's other work?
I really enjoy Scott's work, except for Robin Hood, and have not seen Duellists. How does it compare to his other work?

Agreed.
Lovely performances from Carradine and Diana Quick and even Keitel turns in some good work. Room for improvement in the script department but a tour de force, nontheless. Brilliant first film.

Which do think are his other two good works? I can think of Blade Runner and Alien myself.
"Tairnearan Tar As"
I like lumping Legend and Duellists with those movies as his most creative works. (I know a lot people don't care for Legend, but I love it.) His first four looked and felt different from the rest. Maybe when Legend and Blade Runner tanked, he became more commercial.
shareThe Duellists is based on the same philosophy as Alien and Blade Runner and which is: Let the visuals do the talking. If you only are in it for some more Gladiator then you'll be disappointed.

The Duellists really in hindsight was a stunning debut from a not well known FILM director at the time. What a film. Ridley as we know made alot of his money doing oh those damned "commercials". maybe more future directors should start there, eh? As ridley said it can get you "organized" which he certainly was on the set in France.
shareA lot less commercial than certain recent offerings.

It's not "sci-fi", it's SF!
I think it's his best work.

Flawless way to rank them. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Well done.
shareCompares very favourably to everything post-1982.
"facts are stupid things" - Ronald Reagan
Scott's made only three flicks: this one, Braid Shunner, and The Stallion.
