Feraud a truly scary guy

I say Feraud is truly a scary guy because one tends to run into more of his psychologically unstable type rather than the far more congenial and forgiving D'Hubert.

Has anyone out there ever encountered someone who took an instant disliking to you and became your enemy before you even knew you pissed him off? I have. I once heard someone say, "...every man has some enemies", as if it were a natural occurence in life.

Just as I have met people who for some inexplicable reason took an instant liking to me, I ran into some individuals who took a mysterious instant DIS-liking to me and I can't figure out both instances. I am no psychologist or psychiatrist.

It's just downright spooky. You can be minding your own business and some dude just decides to be your enemy. And if this occurs at the workplace, it's the beginning of a lot of trouble and stress. Friends can't do much for you at work, but an enemy at one's own professional job level can do a heck of a lot of harm to your reputation and career, spreading poison about you behind your back to anyone who will listen.

Years ago there was a guy who was a friend of some friends and right from the get go he just took an instant dislike to me. I never knowingly said or did anything to provoke this reaction except, as I was later told, he may have been jealous because I had just become a dad for the first time and his wife had left him. Fairly tenuous but who can tell what was on this guy's mind. Anyway, he was reasonably ok with me whenever we met but apparently whenever i would leave the pub he would call me every name under the sun and swear violence against me. But he never showed any indication of this to my face which made it all the more disturbing.

In actual fact he was a bit of a thug with a police record for brawling and violence. His dad was convicted of armed robbery and his uncle was also serving time for bank robbery. Not someone to be crossed. Nothing ever came of it but it was the lack of logic behind his dislike that really got to me. That and the fact that he bothered to hide this hostility from me whilst clearly having some issues boiling under the surface.
