There was also a scene in Carrie, where a fire hose comes out and attacks kids in the dance hall. Or maybe you are refering to the Parker Stevenson movie This House Possessed which had a small scene where a water hose sprays some kids and scares the hell out of them. I think later in the movie the hose gets Parker as they are trying to leave the house.
shareSounds like "The Shining" (Not the Kubrick movie, I mean the one with Steven Weber); as far as I remember they kept the scene with the hose scaring the little boy in that adaption.
