So the professor doesn't contact his wife for over a month?

I guess you could say it's a theme he cares more about science than his wife, which seems evident by his reaction to the half robot/half human child. But still, he doesn't even think about his wife for over a month? In essence not a bad movie but I think the major flaw is that we have to believe she's there for so long and nobody except that one technician even remotely tries to contact her.

The were separated. I'm not sure how often separated/divorced people keep in contact with their spouse/ex-spouse, but I don't think a month is too long of a time period.
