Can anyone identify the minor characters in this movie???

Other than the main characters (Treece, David, Gail, and Cloche), the only other minor characters I can identify are:

Coffin - The Goliath shipwreck survivor (saved by Treece), who wants the morphine ampoules and treasure for himself - a nemesis to the main characters
Kevin - Treece's main bodyguard, and 'guardian' of sorts.

Who are Slake, Ronald, Wiley, and Johnson supposed to be?

Maybe they are supposed to be Cloche's henchmen - but then, why go to the trouble of naming these characters and then NEVER refer to them by those names? Why not call them Henchman # 1, Henchman # 2, etc.?

In case I missed something, can anyone identify these mysterious characters?

You're right these 2nd tier character's are never mentioned by name in the film, but they are Cloche's henchmen. Slake is the guy that Gail kills with the harpoon, Ronald is the big guy who kills Kevin. Wiley and Johnson are two heavies who help abduct Gail and David.

Thank you.

A lot of people miss too that Slake is the guy who collects their scuba tanks at the beginning of the movie ("damn right it's not in the guidebook"). He's also likely the guy who tipped Cloche off about the morphine ampule.

One more thing, although I know it's pretty obvious is that since it was a novel, maybe thats another reason why they used their proper names. I'm just throwing it out there. I read the book 16 years ago, and I can't remember if they even named the henchmen, but it's a possible reason.
