Treece's diving attire

One of the things I love about this movie is that Treece always dives wearing the clothes he has on at the time. No special wet suit, he just goes right in wearing his cotton pants and white dress shirt. Was this what the character in the book did as well or did Robert Shaw add this himself? It just strikes me as perfect for his character.

Yes, Treece did the same in the book. That's why Robert, the wonderful Shaw, does so in the film. And it really is part of his character, really goes hand in hand, doesn't it?

Young man is angry! Girl is afraid! He wants to get high, she wants to get paid! City's Burning!
