Fight Scene

I heard that there was a pretty decent fight scene in this movie. What's it like? I can't really find the movie to see it for myself.

There is a good fight scene, between two huge men. There is a tense bit where one tries to kill the other with an outboard motor!
The Deep is well worth a look.

The scene was in the TV version and alot longer, but since that sceening, its been cut down to almost nothing. Shame.

a cracking good film.

you really get a sense of genuine danger and toughness of the characters.

That fight scene is tense! A movie scene that stays with you.

The voodoo scene is also really menacing, and the Moray eel is stuff of nightmares.

I grew up on this film, my father being a keen boat fisherman probably added to its impression. The characters always ringed true to the type of guys whose bread and butter came from working in the sea, be they divers, fishermen etc. Basically salt of the earth genuine tough characters. I saw it again a year or so ago. One of those childhood films that proves to be better to watch as an adult.

That was the best fight scene ever imo. When you try to kill someone with an outboard motor its got to be on top of the list.

That was a heavyweight face off.

It was between Bob Minor (a former bodybuilder)and Robert Tessier. I saw this movie when I was about13 or 14, the fight scene is one of the best in cinematic history. It leaves you thinking...who won?

reply

raceface you watched the movie? Because there was a definite winner, Robert Tessier was killed by Cloche's henchmen. "Kevin was killed"

I think he means the fight itself leaves you thinking "who won" because it isn't revealed until fives minutes later that Kevin lost.

I'm sure if you've had the opportunity to see it since your post which was a long time ago, but for anybody who's interested, here it is:

raceface was half correct; the hulking white guy (Kevin) is Robert Tessier, but his opponent is Earl Maynard, a former professional wrestler.

Either way, it's undoubtedly one of the great movie fights.
