The scene where Gail is forced to strip?SPOILERS

In the scene just after they find the bottle David and Gail are captured, why do they make Gail strip? I remeber seeing this film years ago and thats the only part of the plot I can't remeber, I just remeber the scene for obvious reasons >:)

reply

I haven't seen the movie in a while, but I belive the reson they forced Gail to strip for them was to make sure she wasn't hiding anything that they wanted. Thats what I always belived

They're looking for the ampule (sp?), which is small enough that she could've been hiding it . . .

You know, I think they just wanted to see her naked.

reply

I always felt sorry for her on that scene. They all looked so sleazy when she was having to just stand there and allow them to observe her nakedness like that. I don't think they cared whether or not she was too naked, since they just wanted the bottle.

Something warm is burning inside of me.

reply

She was never naked in that scene, just topless.

Still, I also think that they just wanted to see her boobs.

That scene was actually out of the original novel.

I think only the leader saw anything because the rest were standing behind her.

Lucky Louis Gossett Jr. Rank DOES have its privileges!

I read the book a long time ago. According to my memory, the scene was much hotter in the book than in the film. David and Gail had both to strip completely, as they could have hidden the bottle in theirs pants. As they were naked in front of the gangsters, the situation caused David to have an erection.
It would have been difficult to show such a scene in a mainstream film back in the seventies.

reply

In the movie, I don't think Cloche and his goons needed her to take off anything but her top portions. Her pants was obviously pretty tight, they'd be able to tell whether or not she was hiding anything. That morphine ampule would've stuck out like a sore thumb.

But maybe he did it to give David the idea of what he could do if they didn't cooperate. That's what I always thought when watching this.

reply

Unless they hid the item in a body cavity.

Kyle: It's bigger than Cartman's @$$!
Eric: No it isn't you guys

reply

She could have been hiding "someplace dark, warm, and wet" but I doubt the censors would have allowed that back then.

Great thats all I'm going to be able to think about when I watch that scene now lol

This scene caused me to have an erection.

I know exactly why they made her do it, but why didn't we get to see what they saw? Between her wet t-shirt and her tight dress in the restaurant, there wasn't much left to show.

You can think about that I will think about the Big Hooters. And she could of hidden it in side her self, ever hear of drug mules. LOL

reply

Really! Forced stripping, sexual humiliation, being aroused in spite of oneself -- it all sounds extremely titillating.

Hell, if I were stark naked in a room with a young and naked Jackie Bisset, I’d get a hard-on even if the entire Sixth Army was watching.

I suppose the bad guys could have forced David and Gail to have sex right there in front of everyone, just for their own sadistic amusement -- but that would have made it a porno film!

reply

That was a more innocent time, wasn't it? The words "cavity search" occurred to me for David and Gail. I was relieved when it did not happen and sick that I had become so accustomed to accounts of desperate people hiding things everywhere for every reason. I guess the world was always this way, but we all just know more now.

It's in the book but it should have been left out of the movie. I felt sorry for Bisset having to perform that sequence. There are two sequences where Bisset was sexually molested and each were just disgusting to watch.
