When will this finally get the proper DVD release it deserves?

This has always been a pitiful bare-bones disc, yet there is decent bonus material available out there. In addition to all the deleted footage that could be included, there was an hour-long tv special called THE MAKING OF "THE DEEP" that provides a great look behind the scenes.

The Deep is now out on a Blu-ray disc which does include a documentary about making the movie. This documentary is introduced by and narrated by Robert Shaw.

That's the documentary shown on TV to promote the film back in the day. Glad it's been brought out from the vaults after all this time.
