A special-edition DVD?

I was just reading the Three Deleted scenes thread and decided to start a separate thread about a special edition DVD. Is there an update on the possibility of a special edition DVD of The Deep? This extra 50-odd minutes of cut footage from the film sounds intriguing.

I say Dream On.

Well, let's look at it this way... Sony decided to delete the widescreen edition and replace it with a crappy pan-and-scan version that can be found in abundance in your friendly neighbourhood Wal-Mart *bargain bins*. Yeah, right. Bargain.

Yes, the cut footage would be cool to have - even if it's only presented as an extra but, again, don't hold your breath for it. After all, this is Sony we are talking about...

I urge you all to look at the alternate versions page. The deleted material is FINALLY listed! As for the Special Edition. I WISH!
Sony are bastards. They released a mere 6 deleted scenes onto the new Blu Ray and it's only on BLU RAY! We need Commentary, commemorative interviews, ALL THE DELETED FOOTAGE, John Barry featurette, Robert Shaw memoriam, Production Notes, Etc.

Sony screwed the pooch, but then, they always do. Most people understand.

A special-edition DVD would be great. I'd buy it.
