Was “The Deep” shown on both ABC and NBC?

According to Leonard Maltin’s movie guide, “The Deep” was shown on NBC. There’s a video on Youtube for “The Deep” when it premiered on ABC. And in the “alternate versions” page for “The Deep”, it states that the movie was shown on both ABC and NBC. How normal is it for a theatrical film to be shown on two major television networks? I always thought that when a theatrical film was sold to TV, whatever network bought it had the rights to it for several years, then it was sold back to cable (where it would have been shown before it’s network TV premier). Of course, there have been some exceptions (“The Sound of Music”, “The Fugitive”, etc.), but for the most part, it seems like theatrical films, when they’re shown on network TV, are shown on one network. Can anyone confirm if it was shown on NBC as well, and, if it was, if that version contained all the deleted scenes that were added to the ABC broadcast?
