The movie poster

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I just felt like I had to post that this film's poster is absolutely chilling to me. Ever since I was a kid and saw the cover of the movie's VHS at the video store, it's always haunted me. Just the thought of being alone in the deep dark waters of the ocean, struggling to get to the surface really taps into a primal kind of fear. The poster also somewhat recalls the famous poster for "Jaws".

Anyway, I just noticed today that this film is streaming on Netflix, so I might check it out, finally.

I agree with your assessment of the movie poster, however, if you haven't seen it yet, the poster is very misleading to what the movie actually is. The only scene that comes remotely close to the poster is in the very beginning when JB's character rushes to the surface because of an incident that happened on their first dive.

It is a good movie and the cover is one of the reasons I rented it once upon a time but the movie poster is incongruous with the movie itself.

If you did see it, what did you think?

Although I like this movie a lot, it did seem to play off of the sucess of Jaws, including the cover being a rip off od Jaws' cover.

The camera angles in the movie and under water played off the unique shots that Jaws was using also.
