Don't Understand Movies Like This...(Possible Plot Spoilers Alert!)

Naturally being a sort of treasure hunting/adventure kind of film it's par for the course to have exotic locales, robbers, villians, intrigue that sort of thing. But as soon as drugs are invloved goodbye. That's why it's so crystal clear to me, it really is. Diving down to some ship and finding a very old valuable coin is one thing but finding drugs? Morphine? Goodbye, I think I'll go home now, get my suitcase packed, the passport in order and I'm outta here.

Of course the fools in this movie didn't leave but went back and got involved. Yeah right, I'm smarter to know that where drugs are involved it can lead to only one thing, and of course you have unsavory characters threatening your lives over it and yet they stayed. Your wife gets attacked by Haitan Voodoo criminals who send a message that you should have listened to but yeah naturally you say screw it I'm not gonna leave. Some husband this guy is, some idiot woman she is. Ok yeah I'll buy that, getting tangled with criminals when your dumb behind is in a foreign country no less. That's plausible, I hope those of you watching this movie have more sense than that.

It's called conflict. Many great stories, this one included, come from it!

Young man is angry! Girl is afraid! He wants to get high, she wants to get paid! City's Burning!

Two big dudes lock up trying to break each others necks. And you worry about such trivial things.

Besides Bissets BI SET, it was the most memorable thing in the movie.

Well, once the terror had passed, I think the couple started getting their blood up, wanting to get their own back. They were coaxed by Treece's words about 'if there's treasure down there, you're going to be reading about someone else finding it.' I thought it was good that Gail - the one who got terrorized by the Haitian men - was the one who spoke up about how they could go and get it. Plus, Gail & David saw Treece had organization of his own, enough to blockade Cloche and force him into a truce & deal. So I found it plausible they found reasons to stay and get the missing treasure.
