The part where Gail gets hurt by the voodoo... was this part edited?

I think about 15 years ago, when it was aired on HBO, that scene was completely editied out, I think. Then I first saw that scene about 7-10 years ago on I think TBS. For those of you that saw it on HBO years ago, was it edited out completely. I was 10 years old at the time and I can't remember it very well.

Surfing imdb since 2002

The edited out scene is where Gail(played by beautiful actress Jaqueline Bisset)
is raped - - -

This scene does not depict sexual penetration, as it would have been rated X at the time if they done such on screen !

The voodoo witchdoctor ties her up and swathes her body and especially her navel, which is prominently depicted, with a chicken leg dowsed in blood !

Basically she is humiltiated and terrorized, but not hurt physically !

Unless that was a body double, Bisset sure does have a sexy dimpled stomach :-)

it was her blood
the voodoo cut her with the knife

WOW.......amazing detailed account of the chicken leg scene.

Can you tell me the end cos my stupid video recorder cut the end off [again]..I got as far as the moray eel biting Louis Gossett Jr head off, then I have no clue whether the necklace with the dragons head was bought to the surface, or if any of the jewels where recovered.

Is the extended version of that scene in the blu-ray or ABC version found here:

I dunno what movie you saw, but what you described was not in The Deep.
She was not cut. It was not her blood either.

Um...Make up your mind; Either she was raped, or not hurt. Uh?
After her ordeal, Gail is fine and ready to take on Cloche and co. I cannot see a rape victim behaving so calmly afterwards.
