Animal Cruelty

I was wondering if anyone knew of reports of animal cruelty on set for this film? PLEASE no graphic descriptions, I just want to know if the film was monitored or not, as I have not been able to find information listed on animal cruelty in films sites. I love to see NATURE STRIKES BACK films, but not at the expense of animals being hurt. Can anyone help? Should this film be avoided for animal cruelty?

The film doesn't have shots of animals getting hurt, people fight nature and nature wins... There are plenty of shots of animals in the wild, with the music implicating that they are up to something. It almost looks like a nature film in that respect! Neilsen wrestles with a trained bear (and loses), some rats get to feast on leftovers on the Sheriff's table, There's a great sequence with a pack of wolves attacking a cabin, really no reason it couldn't have been easily filmed without hurting any animals.

Thank you for the feedback, I'll hopefully enjoy watching it then! Much appreciate that you'd take the time to respond.

You'll enjoy it if you like bad dialogue, badly delivered.... I't a guilty pleasure movie!

Did anyone else notice a scene with a couger trotting by the camera with a red blotch on its thigh? I dont know what that was; looked like a big open wound.
That just got me wondering about animal cruelity myself...
I dunno.

I would wager that there wasn't a lot of precaution taken in regards for the animals' safety. There are three scenes that should be clues: during the german shepard attack, one of the dogs seems to be just pushed off the roof. Later, during the same attack the dogs are just floating on the raft while the humans cling to the sides, not to give feelings to animals that may or may not be there, but the dogs looks legitimately freaked out. Finally, during the rat attack scene, it seems that the rats are tied to string and pulled towards the camera - doesn't seem too humane.

Michael vick was the Animal handler in the film

After just watching this myself, I have to say it appeared as though some animals may have been handled a bit rough (the rat scene), but otherwise throughout the rest of the film the animals look like they are playing with the trainer during the attack scenes. Tricky editing was obviously used to make them look more menacing. However, I also noticed the wound on the cougar, not sure what that was all about...
