I watched part of it and was disappointed. It was in wide screen (2.35:1 ratio) when it came out, but shown full screen on Fox Movie Channel. Action movies really suffer having so much of the image cut off.
Hopefully this doesn't mean that the studio can't locate a print in the original format. Fox was way disappointed because they thought this would be a huge hit and it wasn't.
When it first came out I saw it and (lots of people are going to flame me for this) enjoyed it for what it was: an action movie with motorcycles and giant insects. It wasn't life changing but it was fun. You could go to the movies in Alvin, Texas for $1 on Sunday and Monday nights in the late 70's [which is why I was able to see STAR WARS seven times] and DAMNATION ALLEY gave me my money's worth.
Shame its not $1 now ... I pay £7.10 to watch movies at the cinema now :(
shareIve had this on my Sky HD for some time but only got round to watching it last night.
It was last on ZONE THRILLER here and again it was FULL SCREEN and the picture was not that great.
