Damnation Alley on DVD?
Anybody know when Damnation Alley will be released on DVD? Or even who to contact to ask? I spent 30 minutes hunting around the various Fox websites, but couldn't find any contact info.
Thanks,
bhender1

I came here to ask the same question. I saw it at the theater when I was 12. Also want to know about White Line Fever, also with Jan M Vincent.
shareSame here, saw it when I was a kid. The giant scorpions got my attention. Always wondered what Vincent wanted the female mannequin for?
shareHe wanted the mannequin to fool his friend...who was ready to shoot him after it's dumped off his bike. Just a potentially lethal practical joke, just like the old days when they bombed the world. :P
I just wanted to say that this movie had almost NOTHING to do with the book that it is "based on". Skip the movie and read the book instead.
The book is okay, not up to Zelazny's best by far, but not bad. The movie is passable, but has not one damned thing to do with the book other than going cross country.
shareThe scorpions got my attention too, when I first saw it. I assumed Tanner wanted the mannequin to distract the scorpions and make his return easier.
...
Hey I would love to get this movie on DVD! I was going to check with the SciFi channel to see if they could get it on DVD so I'll get back to you.
shareFYI, there is an online petition at:

I'm not sure how effective online petitions are, but it might make you feel better. ;)
Coming out on BluRay in a couple of months.
shareNow THIS would make my DVD collection complete!!!

This movie will finally be officially released on DVD Tuesday July 12 at your local rental store,in USA. It will also be available for streaming via netflix. Has to hold the record for longest "official" release. Usually movies like this just become available for purchase in bargain bin or through TCM etc.and one doesn't see this type of scenario. Hopefully it goes well and a bunch of other classics go the same route. Good thing is folks know they became available and don't have to search around.

Just bought the official single-disc DVD release from 20th Century Fox/Shout Factory and it does come widescreen 2.35:1 in 5.1 digital stereo sound or optional 2 channel stereo. Though the movie itself is not "digitally remastered" for this release, its pretty good overall and runs 91 minutes...
It has approx 40 minutes of extra features broken into 3 parts with producer commentary (Paul Maslansky) during the film feature, 2 original trailers (movie/TV spot) some minuses: no deleted scenes (including those included on television) or subtitles -
I purchased the Shout! Factory DVD for fifteen bucks at a local alternative mom'n'pop music store in Central New Jersey.
