I was so mesmerized by this movie when i was a kid
When i first watched it, it was like out of the world experience.
But now i don't feel a thing watching it :(

That's one of the things that sucks about being an adult, losing that childhood imagination and sense of wonder and infinity. I think I would have enjoyed this movie a lot more if I saw it as a kid. I mean, I liked it, but I didn't love it the way I probably would have if I was a child.
shareI saw it tonight for the first time in years, and yes, I was mesmerized and drawn in! Not to the degree when I saw it for the first time and was genuinely mystified by all the shapes and obsessions, but it's a wonderfully crated film and John Williams knocked it out of the park.
Spielberg pulls off the same trick as he did in "Jaws", which is to start out in a totally convincing mundane real world, and then to go some place strange and wonderful and take the audience with him. Okay, maybe the last five minutes are a bit much, but it really is a terrific film.
I went back to the theatre three or four times to see the movie. VHS was new and expensive as I recall. For me it was a spiritual experience.
shareMe too.
Today the movie didn't have the same effect when I saw it as a child but I watch it yesterday and I was surprise how much this movie had me mesmerized even today.
