Deleted scenes!

Lee Pfeiffer of CinemaRetro reminisces:

"I saw [The Car] at an advanced critic's screening back in the day and I can recall pensive-looking Universal executives scribbling down notes based on the uproarious laughter from the audience. A few weeks later, I went to see the film again with friends who were anxious to appreciate a very bad horror movie. Much to my surprise, some of the scenes had been deleted in an apparent last-minute attempt to salvage this "car" wreck of a movie. What remained was still a hoot but one can only hope that the American Film Institute will one day seek to restore this missing footage so we can enjoy this classic turkey in its original cut."
